Betty was born on March 14, 1945 to Ruby and John E. Miller in Handley, West Virginia. Betty
went to Pratt Middle School and from there she went to East Bank High School. Later in life she
met and married Raymond Woodson Sr and moved to Philadelphia, Pa. From this union they
had four children: Annette, Paulette, David, Raymond Jr, and adopted Linda Young. After
having her children, Betty went onto work as a Bus Matron for the Philadelphia School District
for many years. After leaving the school board she took off to assist with raising her
grandchildren. She also provided comfort and sanctuary to many people in the neighborhood.
She ended her working career managing a lounge for a few years before retiring to become a
full-time grandmother, which she enjoyed and took pride in. At the age of 66, she was
diagnosed with lymphoma. She battled this condition for several years before she successfully
overcame it. At that point she resided with her daughter Annette Woodson, who took
tremendous great full-time care of her mother with pride until the Lord called her home.
Betty was proceeded in death by Ruby and John E. Miller (parents), Alonzo, Billy, Johnetta, and
Alice (siblings). Betty leaves to cherish her siblings: Roderick, Mary, Judy, Alphonso. Her
children: Annette (Terry), Paulette (George), David (Karen), Raymond Jr. (Florence).
Grandchildren: Natasha, April, Takia, Vincent, Charita, TeeJae, Tre, Troy, Rayvon, Shariff and
David. Great Grandchildren: Tysheim, Jayla, Lamon, Dramend, and a host of other great
grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved family.
