Clifford Smith Sr, of Philadelphia, PA passed away on 25 June 2021 while under the care of the Philadelphia Veteran’s Hospital.
As a retired master mechanic who was well known throughout the city of Philadelphia, a United States Army Veteran with honorable service during the Vietnam War, his life didn’t come to an end after his death. Big Cliff, as he was known, was surrounded by his children, numerous grandchildren, and many other friends and family who will continue to honor his legacy by living their individual lives to the fullest.
Big Cliff was known to be a kind-hearted, generous and loved individual. He sought out the simplest things in life, and these things brought him great joy. As far back as anyone can remember, his favorite hobbies were deep sea fishing off the Jersey Shore, working on automobiles, and collecting firearms.
Big Cliff is survived by his son, CSM Clifford Allen Smith, Jr. and his wife, Crystal Smith of Fort Campbell, KY; his daughter Jamie Smith-Morgan and her husband Morris Martin of Pottstown, PA; preceded by his son James Johnson and his wife Elizabeth Johnson of Philadelphia, PA ; 10 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
