Kevin Conquest Obituary

Kevin Tyrone Conquest was born September 14, 1959 to the late Catherine and David Conquest. He was called home to be with the Lord December 31,2020. Kevin was born in Philadelphia, PA and attended the Philadelphia Public School System, where he graduated from Strawberry Mansion High School. Kevin was an exemplary tennis player and was a member of the National Junior Tennis League. He attended summer tennis camp and competed in tournaments throughout the country.

To know Kevin aka Dice was to love him. He was known as the family comedian always making you laugh over any little thing. After graduating high school, Kevin wanted to follow in his fathers footsteps and serve his country. He joined the United States Army and served from September 1979 to September 1982. He was an Airborne Medical Specialist. His awards include the Army Service Ribbon, Advanced Individual Training Ribbon, Medic Badge, Airborne Badge, Infinity Badge, Overseas Service Ribbon, and Army Achievement Ribbon.

In 1988, Kevin married Mary Lacy and through that conceived two daughters Katrina and Karin Conquest as well as two stepsons Bernard Lacy and Samuel Tiru. Kevin also had a daughter Ebony Beckles by Sharon Castle Price.

Professionally, Kevin began working for Delaware River Waterfront Corporation in 2011 and worked there until his death. There he began as a part time seasonal Security Officer. However, his commitment and positive attitude moved him to become a full time member of the team. As a senior member, Kevin often mentored younger guards as they joined the team.

Kevin is preceded in death by his parents Catherine and David Conquest, sister; Stephanie Ladson and sister in law; Loretta Conquest. Left to cherish his memories are his three daughters; Katrina, Ebony, and Karin, two stepsons; Bernard and Sam, one son in law; Paul, 11 grandchildren; Hy’Dris, Fahkir, Kanizah, Cameron, Summer, Asia, Nard, Samia, Basil, Zahki, and Nylah, one sister; Shirley Conquest, two brothers; Stanley and David Conquest, six sister in laws; Patricia, Rosa, Theresa, Priscilla, Stacey and Anita, two brother in laws; Leroy and Ronnie. Ronnie and Kevin were the best of friends, more like brothers, they were two peas in a pod. He also leaves behind three great granddaughters and a host of nieces, nephews and so many friends that love him dearly.

We will always remember Kevin for his smile, distinctive low voice, and big sense of humor. His spirit will forever live on through his children and all of the beautiful memories he made here on earth.
