Migdalia Lugo-Guzman Obituary

Migdalia Lugo born on July 5, 1967 in Philadelphia PA to Parents Carmen Daisy Lugo and Luis Guillermo Morales, Died December 3, 2020 at 9:45am at St. Joseph's Manor due to complications of Cancer. She was one of five children second to the youngest, she is survived by Daughter Melissa Pagan, Sisters Julia Morales & Raquel Pedroza, her four loving

Grandchildren Elias, Elani, Edward, & Aliza and spouse Victor Guzman, Brothers Luis G. Morales & Jose A. Morales and Her only son Edward Pagan preceded her in death.

Migdalia grew up in the Kensington section of the city in the 70's and early 80's on the 100 block of Silver St. She always spoke about how much fun she had as a child and of her Cousins and friends from that neighborhood at that joyful and youthful time of her life.

Migdalia attended Thomas Alva Edison High School in the 80's she did not complete her High School Education at that time of her life, she had become a young mother and tended to her motherly responsibilities. Migdalia return to school in 1999 and graduated from Ben Franklin High School a very proud accomplishment, she was always very determined. Migdalia was a single independent mother for several of her young years, raising her two children Edward & Melissa and was always close to her mother Carmen Daisy Lugo who lived with her. Migdalia worked for Larami Corp. on 11th & Callowhill in the late 80's and early 90's.

In the mid 90's Migdalia obtain employment with the Philadelphia School District as a NTA she would later be promoted to School Police, where she worked in several schools through-out
her career. Dispite her petite size Officer Lugo was respected and loved by students, teachers and co-workers. Migdalia retired early from the school district and then worked as a volunteer
at Pauls Run Retirement Community where she was adored by the residents and staff who considered her family.

On May 5, 1994 Migdalia met Victor Guzman at Magicos Night Club, when he approached her for a dance, she accepted.  The song that was playing was a salsa titled " Todo Comenzo Bailando" which translated means "It All Started With A Dance" and the rest is history. It was love that was meant to be. Migdalia was also loved and considered by her stepchildren Madeline, Jessica, Demitri and Victor Jr.as a second mother figure in their lives. On December 31, 2000  Migdalia made Victor the happiest man alive when she became Ms.Migdalia Lugo Guzman.

Migdalia and Victor Lived in Harrowgate, Juaniata, Frankford and resided at 3429 Decatur St.in the Northeast when Migdallia passed. She was known as Dolly to the neighbors who she befriended quit easily, she was loved, it was in her nature. Migdalia was the life of every party, she had a smile that would light up a room, it was in her nature to take care of others, that was one of the hardest things she had to deal with when she was sick, that she did not have the strength and energy to be the Homemaker & Caregiver she had always been to her Husband, Grandchildren, Daughter and the residents of Pauls Run. She will be missed dearly. We will See you again in Paradise my Love.
